Tours in Messina and Taormina

Located on the Northeastern tip of the Island and a gateway to the strait, the city of Messina is steeped in art and culture.

Destroyed by an earthquake in 1908, the city was rebuilt in the twentieth century before being afflicted once more, this time by the bombings of World War II. The worst affected monument is the Cathedral, which was destroyed several times and rebuilt on every occasion.

Come and discover the beauty of this magnificent city, its monuments and museums, but also the natural beauty of the panoramic views of the straight of Capo Peloro. There, on a clear day, your gaze can see as far as the tip of Calabria.

Moving away from the province, you can visit the magnificent natural site of the geological and botanical park with the Gorge of Alcantara, one of the most famous lavic canyons in the world, with its basalt walls towering at 50 metres, traversed by the Alcantara river

One of the most famous towns in the province is Taormina, with its unique archaeological remains and cultural events of international repute.

Savoca

The Godfather Tour and Bar Vitelli

Bar Vitelli is among the oldest and most famous Sicilian bars, known throughout the world. Here in 1972, some scenes of the movie "The Godfather" by Francis Ford Coppola were shot.

Located in a former aristocratic house in the Sicilian neoclassical style the two-floor building was built in the early 1700s and restored in 1773. Found in Piazza Fossia in the Borgo district of Savoca (ME). You can still see the colours, atmosphere, and fragrances of the island's traditions and local products.

Castelmola

Castelmola is one of the rare instances in Sicily, where a Byzantine inscription testifies to the building of a small fortress. Currently, this inscription is visible on the southern wall of Castelmola's cathedral.

The ruins of the fortress stand on a rocky oblong buttress (pointing from northwest to southeast) overlooking the small medieval town and offer one of the most picturesque views in Sicily (at 530 m. a.s.l.).
